You all take your seats in the audience, wherever you may choose, apart from the roped off section. As you sit down, you note that the smell of popcorn has intensified even further and gotten even more burnt. In fact, it smells much more like ash now.
Once everyone has sat down, the lights begin to dim, apart from a bright spotlight on the stage. From the backstage curtain emerges a group of clowns, one after the other. You're unsure of where these clowns came from, having seen no sign of them while you were backstage yourselves. Although they are dressed in costume and have a full face of clown makeup, the clowns seem to lack facial features entirely. One by one, each clown picks up an axe or two, making their way to the middle of the stage.
As the group reaches center stage, the main show begins. The clowns begin juggling the axes, throwing them back and forth throughout the group. For some reason, you find it hard to turn away, regardless of your actual interest in the performance.
After what feels like several minutes, something else grabs your attention. You start hearing the creaking and cracking of wood. The tent shakes slightly, but enough for you and the clowns to notice. The clowns halt their performance, looking around (or so you think, with their lack of eyes). It's still for a bit, before chaos breaks out on the stage, the clowns all running around in a panic, but making their way toward the tent exit, which you now notice has been opened.
The creaking resumes again. You probably don't want to stay here for long.
