She couldn't say it felt great to be ignored! But she also understood that the other topic of their conversation was far more heavy. It just… increased her anxiety, really, the chance that she was being perceived as incapable of being of assistance here most certainly gnawed at her chest. Still, it wasn't the largest contributor to her anxiety here, either.
Her face grew pale. That was…. He…. She covered her mouth, nauseated by the idea, but swallowed the feeling down to the best of her abilities.
"I had no intentions of harming him, and I think there's things that… prison time and words can solve, but… You're right, that um… Definitely was a possibility. He, um…. had… a bone or two to pick with me, too, but…." She shook her head. "But…. I don't think that chance outweighs the… results of my decision. I had a duty to help, and… dropped the ball massively, you know? … But I can't change what's been done now, just… try to atone, no matter what the wardens or whispers say to me." She'd done wrong. She knew she'd done wrong. No external party could tell her otherwise.
"… The nicest thing about having told Kuro-chan and Edgeworth-san is that… at least they haven't pretended like I'm entirely innocent, either. But they haven't forsaken me over it, either… So… I want to at least believe I can do better, from now on." Haha… Well. Maybe it was nice to get that admission out. She let out a breathe she didn't know she was holding, and turned her gaze upwards to the much taller man. Still ashen in pallor, she put on her best smile.
"It's fine! I haven't been too hungry anyway. I'm just making sure I get some food regardless, for my health's sake. But… yeah! I have been. The one sad thing about being here is like… None of my hobbies are accessible. I've been keeping fit through exercises without equipment and such, but gosh, if I at least had a soccer ball to work with, you know?" It'd be a bit selfish to ask for something like that, though. Entirely self-serving.
