"Made of paper?"
That detail seemed odd. She frowned a little in thought.

"I cannot say I have very much of an idea what that could mean. It creates a more artificial feel, something hand-made or false."
Not that she was accusing Ellie of lying or anything. Interpretation is a difficult skill.

"Perhaps there are some details regarding what happened, which you haven't revealed yet. Given how everyone drowned in yours, I would prefer to avoid going to every single one. And, those lazy wardens would be left with truly nothing to do."
With that, she ties a few more knots and looks at her work with a critical eye. She doesn't seem entirely pleased with it, but given their resources, that she was able to cobble together anything at all was in itself a miracle.

"…if your eye is hurting, you could use this to keep it covered. It is obviously not the ideal material, but it should at least be the right size."
She holds up a handmade eyepatch for Ellie's approval and casts her eyes aside. It seems to be indeed sized and shaped more or less correctly, given that it is made of torn up fabric scraps. Somehow, Akemi positioned the holes in each scrap as a leatherworker might do for their stitching. She managed to fold it in such a way that the seams look decent, and the edges are concealed to avoid fraying. You get the sense that, had she had an iron, scissors, and sewing kit, she probably could have done something even better.
