Ellie Carter

Ellie can't find the wardens. Fuckers. Cowards. Is it truly just another waiting game? She returns to her cell tired from shouting and knocking on doors, lying face down on her bed to block the light from her eyes. She's angry, she's miserable. But she can't stay still. She rolls over and throws the pillow against the wall, surprised when she does to look up and see a Hikaru outside her cell.

"Oh! Fuck, it's you. How's it feel to be forgiven for killing the fuckin', what, Minister of Justice? We ain't so different. Think if I was bit quieter and handsome about it I woulda gotten the same?"

Hikaru had wanted to talk to Ellie for a while, given what she'd said after his projection, and although he's now got his chance, he can't help but feel a bit sad when he sees how she's been further restrained - and oof, that eye doesn't look happy - but at least they haven't knocked the attitude out of her.

"Aw, come on. If they were voting based on good looks, you'd be the first they'd forgive."

"But… honestly? I don't know. I didn't really expect to be forgiven either. My only guess is I'm a bigger suck-up, so they think I'll be better behaved about it. Damn, though, what did you do? I remember you said the FBI were after you? What are the chances of two political assassins here - or maybe more?"

He still didn't really know anything about anyone else's victims yet.

Ellie Carter

Hard to argue that Hikaru was more of a suck up than Ellie. Or that anyone except Kaoru was more of a suck up than Ellie. She thinks of Kaoru for a moment before answering. Nah, no use not being honest. They know very well what she did. She puts her arms behind her back.

"I killed the Attorney General of the United States. And before that I hacked into some government systems. Wouldn't call myself an assassin though! That brings a sort of professionalism I did NOT have. My ass was NOT paid. Just your bog standard murderer."

Hikaru's eyebrows shot up at Ellie's admission and he looked at her in obvious admiration.

"Holy shit, really? And a hacker, too? I hope it doesn't sound flippant when I say that is really fucking cool."

Soooo cool. Man who fanboys too much over James Bond meets a real life Q…

"I guess maybe they thought I was less dangerous because no one's paying me in here? Though I also don't feel like contract killing is usually the kind of thing that people like to forgive either…"

Ellie wishes she was a real life Q so bad. She is not that good. But she'll take the compliment anyway right now.

"Hehe, thanks. So you are a contract killer? I guess I get it. I whimsically decided to plan and murder a guy for no gain. But if you only do it for pay and no one's paying… I would also think you were less dangerous here."

Hikaru Suzuki

"I mean, contract killer sounds so tacky… it's not really exactly like that, anyway, but… I dunno. Hard to explain. Either way, I'm not planning on killing anyone, so I guess they're right."

"Though thinking someone is less dangerous is still a different question to 'forgiving' someone,right…? So yeah, I don't know. You don't need me to tell you it sucks, but… yeah. It does."
