Vincent had thought that might happen. He’d known that a person was killed in an alley just like this, and from Robert’s commentary afterward, he’d known that it must have been Robert who’d done it. And so far, they’d had no proof of the fact that that had happened to her yet, despite that knowledge, other than ‘Jane’ saying she was a mark to Robert.
That didn’t make seeing the actual gunshot going right through her head(s) any easier, though.
Vincent’s entire body tenses and goes ridged as the shot rings out, and for the life of him he can’t get the imagine of the moment the bullet struck out of his head as he continues to stare at Jane and Daisy on the floor. He knows he shouldn’t keep looking. He knows it won’t help anything to keep staring at the bodies on the ground, but he can’t pull himself away from it either. He feels dizzy, like the entire world is titling unsteadily, and yet he stays standing.
…He wishes he could be someone who could look at this kind of thing without getting as fucked up about it he does, sometimes.
Eventually, Vincent manages to squeeze his eyes shut and take a slow shuddering breath, muttering some weak counts to himself before he exhales, slowly and methodically shifting his limbs from their intensely ridged posture to something a little more normal for him, even if still much more stiff than relaxed. There was still more to do, right now. He can’t afford to completely shut down, right now. Not yet. He still… has to see it through to the end. No matter how unreal everything feels to him, no matter how actually unreal everything in the projections were and how they loved to mess with his senses, he does he very best to ground himself, putting a hand to his chest and feeling his own (very quick) heartbeat.
Vincent turns away from the bodies on the ground towards the others before he even opens his eyes, trying to avoid looking at the blood again for now.

“I… figured. He didn’t- He didn’t know who it was. Didn’t recognize her. Thought… she was going to expose him, or blackmail him. But we can… tell him. About everything else, too. If- We can go back to the the saloon…?”
Where was that from here. Someone else may have to guide him as he gets his bearings again, or he can stumble in his best guess of the right direction. Through that open door to the train station at least, right? Were they still on the train, somehow…? It’s still messing with his head a little that they’re both inside the train and outside in the streets at the same time, right now. But he’s slowly putting himself back together into something functional and able to talk to Robert and the Muse both, if they have the time to do so.
