It seems that, now there are people (and a… jackalope?) here to be in charge of things, they don't have to cook their own food. But Hikaru quite likes the idea of being able to control something about this situation, and also doesn't entirely trust the meals not to be tampered with in some way. So he's patiently waited until the kitchen is clear, and has taken his chance.
Compared to some other things that have recently been made in this kitchen, the stir fry that's just finished being cooked both smells and looks good. Hikaru hadn't considered how long chopping onions with blunt implements would take, but thankfully there had been enough pre-sliced vegetables in the fridge to save the whole thing from being a complete nightmare. He's just plating up some, mixed in with white rice, when he notices someone in the doorway.
He'd seen her around earlier… Akemi Kuro, he thinks he'd heard her name was. Seemed like the serious sort.

"Hey there. You can use the kitchen, if you'd like - I've just finished cooking. I would offer you some, but unfortunately I only made enough for myself."
