Haah… What a relief. It was nice to have someone you could rely on a little, once in awhile. It was like a small jolt of drained energy was shot back into her system. Just a microdose of it, but anything helped. No matter how other people may have viewed that projection, Suzune had already made her decision and that was enough for her!
After a brief exchange of warmth, Suzune let go of the hug, beaming. "Thank you, really. It means a lot!"
She nodded sagely. Grief was hard, she knew, but that didn't erase the good times someone had with a person, even when they were gone. She… most certainly knew as much, at this point. "Oh gosh, my own family? Well! I could go all day, is the thing, hehe~ There's my husband Haruki, and our one-year-old daughter Hazuki… They make going home every day feel warm and relaxing! It's funny, it's like… Well. I guess I don't really get to relax anywhere outside of their arms! Haaa… Hazuki is so funny, she's starting to speak, the silly thing. I can't wait til we're old enough to have conversations. I wonder what goes on in that little head of hers! Haruki is patient, sweet, calm, understanding… And oh my GOSH Is he the best cook I've ever met! Oh, and, like, he makes all of my clothes by hand! He's a total whiz at it, too, can crank out an entire outfit in only a few hours." She tugged at the tied straps of the tank top beneath her straightjacket. Just one of the many things he'd made.
"I spent most of my time growing up at my in-laws' house! Haruki's parents babysat for me quite a lot, and he has two older brothers. Both of them are pro soccer players now, too!! Honestly, it's like, they're more celebrities than me at this point, hehe." That might be an understatement for Suzune's own fame, but the point stands. "Haruki was the quiet youngest of the group, while everyone else there is loud and boisterous, a little mischievous! He was a bit of an anomaly in that regard, but, like. I fit right in with them! We take trips to see them pretty often, when we can."'
"My parents, though, hmmm…." How to described them? She tilted her head to think. "Gosh, well, like. We got a lot closer when I was in middle school. They're BIG music heads, so we went to concerts a lot! Especially the outdoor ones where you pitch a tent and camp out for a couple days, hehe. I'd describe them as creatives and free spirits? Idk, they're, like, goat yoga kind of people. You know the type?"
Suzune paused to dip a carrot from the veggie tray into the hummus, tossing it into her mouth.
