Flipping Flippies

Kaoru Naito

Kaoru’s been getting antsy; when he starts to feel like he’s getting on a routine, it bothers him. Walk from the kitchen to the warehouse to the hall to his cell and repeat until the sun explodes. Take a shower sometimes. Refuse to take a shower sometimes. He wants to hit his head against a wall.

His first thought to get rid of that feeling is to start some shit with someone. That seems like a bad idea with the handful of people he knows, he’s not feeling like getting brain invaded again by the warden’s “magical powers”, so he goes for his second thought, which appears to be standing in the kitchen trying to juggle a set of spatulas. This is… advanced boredom.

Tatsuko Onizuka

Tatsuko, for one, is in a great mood because she has plans. Big plans. Big, irresponsible, possibly dangerous plans, AKA the best kind of plans. Which finds her sauntering into the kitchen with a large stack of paper and an even larger grin on her face.

She pauses for a bit to stare at Kaoru attempting to juggle spatulas, before nodding in approval. You go, cool-looking guy she doesn't know. She then goes to turn on the stove burner. An electric stove isn't ideal in this scenario, but she'll take what she can get.

Kaoru Naito

Seeing Tatsuko, he catches one spatula out of the air and lets the other fall to the ground when he misses it, abandoning it as he approaches her. He can be introverted at times, not going out of his way to find people, but once they get near him he’s not shy about getting involved in their business.

“Hey, sup? You look like yer at step one of a scheme.”

Tatsuko Onizuka

Tatsuko looks up, still grinning. "Hell yeah I am!"

"I'm so sick of this goddamn place! It's boring as hell, and there's nothing to do! Feels like a fucking prison!" That's because it is one.

"So I'm gonna burn this place to the ground and get outta here for good!" She hasn't quite come up with a plan for what she's going to do after she escapes the Milgram, wherever it happens to be, but one thing at a time.

"Anyway, that's my plan! Want in?"

Kaoru Naito

This is a bad and poorly thought out idea. Thus:

“Fuck yeah, make me yer ignition lieutenant, chief! All th’ paper fer yer upcoming recruitment campaign or we startin’ a lil baby bonfire with all that?”

Tatsuko Onizuka

"Good to have you on board, lieutenant! Let's get this show on the road!"

…As soon as the stove heats up, that is. Tatsuko hovers her hand over the burner to test the heat. It's warming up, but it might still be a few more minutes before it's at the right heat.

"Yeah, this is the fuel! Hoping it's enough. Never burned down a prison before, but I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing!" That… is a concerning statement. On many levels.

Kaoru Naito

Fuck yeah. Honestly, say less. He is so willing to start a huge fire as soon as he isn't the only one that will be responsible for it. He picks up some pieces of paper and starts balling them up, not too tightly.

"Heh, ya burn down any other places 'fore?" He doesn't know yet. "Hey, they gave us pans 'n oil, yeah? That'll speed the start up fer us."

Tatsuko Onizuka

"Me? Burn down places? Why would I do that?"

"This is just some circus magic, y'know? Insider secret. Don't tell the director, or this prison won't be the only thing being fired!" She winks, before laughing.

"Hell yeah! Let's heat things up!"

Kaoru Naito

“Ohoho, ya got devil horns but turns out ‘m talkin’ t’ an angel, sweet ‘n innocent ‘n all! Just a lil magic…”

He puts the paper balls in a front pan and will liberally cover them in oil before putting this on the hot stove. This is deeply insane. This will catch so on fire so soon.

“You actually work fer a circus? That’s sick.”

Tatsuko Onizuka

"I'm not a devil, I'm a dragon! Nobody ever gets that right." She pouts. "Whatever. It makes sense when you see me on the stage. Dragons breathe fire, I eat fire, it all works out." Either way, she's not too upset over Kaoru's mistake. He's willing to set things on fire and cause problems with her, so that's a plus in her book.

Copying Kaoru, she grabs another pan and begins balling up some of her own paper.

"Yeah, it's pretty cool! Travel around a bunch, do some shows, and the people pretty much let me do what I want. As long as I'm not hurting business." She eyes Kaoru. "I like the piercings! I wanna get some, but I keep forgetting. Maybe once I'm outta here."

Kaoru Naito

“Dragons ‘re just motherfuckin’ demon lizards, aren’t they?”

He lifts his pan and flips the balls in his, not because it helps, just because he wants to. It’s fun flipping things around in a pan.

“That rockss, sounds like a baller gig.” She killed someone. But like who cares. “Y’ should get some snake bites like I got, put spikes in ‘stead of studs, that’ll fit the dragon vibe.”

Tatsuko Onizuka

At Kaoru's words, Tatsuko stands slack-jawed and stunned. He has genuinely blown her mind, and her brain has shut down while she reconsiders her entire worldview. Give her a few seconds to reboot. It won't take long, since there is admittedly very little to start back up.

"Holy shit, I never even thought of it like that. Oh my fucking god."

"Ooh, sounds good! Lots of my clothes have spikes, so it'll match. Too bad I didn't get to keep my usual collar. This one is a huge downgrade."

She begins drizzling some oil on her paper balls.

“Ohoho, y’ got a fuckin’ wolf collar usually? That’s hot, fuck yeah,” he says with the casualty of a guy who calls too many things hot all the time, “I usually got a sick lil choker with these fangs in th’ front fer th’ buckle— fuck, I guess they took that from me with my hoodie ‘n shit, fuck! I liked that thing, it was old as hell! Like, vintage by now—!”

He complains as his paper ball pile absolutely ignites. It wasn’t long for the world. His eyes light up.

“Gehahah, now that’s hot, heeeell yeah!”

Tatsuko Onizuka

"Hell yeah, sounds cool as fuck. Can't believe they fucking took that from you. Maybe they're jealous. Maybe they wanted it." Warden fashion show with the prisoners' accessories… Tatsuko would be enjoying visualizing it, but she doesn't know what they could've taken from anyone else, so it's a pretty short show.

What is far more interesting, however, is how the paper ignites. At that moment, Tatsuko directs all her attention to Kaoru's pan, seemingly captivated in watching the flame rise with a grin on her face.

"Hehehe… YES! YEAH!!!"

Kaoru Naito

“Heelll yeah, ‘kay, now we oughta juuuust…”

He sets the pan down, hers will surely ignite any second, and goes to grab the trash can, picking it up to chunk some paper into it. Whatever’s in there is probably flammable too, awesome. He sets the trash can a good three or four feet away from the stove…

Then he picks up his pan and fucking flings the balls into it like he’s playing insane fire tennis. Most of them make it in and some of them burningly fall to the ground, still on fire.

“Geheh! Pretty good shot fer a fella outta practice!”

MILGRAM

Speaking of flipping flippies, it's time to flip out!

Specifically, time for a very concerned-looking Sie to peek in.

"I thought I smelled smoke, is everyone—"

They somehow manage to pale a little further at the sight of a trashcan and a few other items clearly on fire.

"I—I've got it…!"

Time is of the essence in situations like these! So they don't give it overmuch thought, acting as if these two are truly just a couple of unfortunate cooks whose mishaps were very definitely accidental. Sie lurches forward and, being oh so far away from the sink, instead inverts the entire flaming trashcan on top of whatever hit the floor so no more air can get in to feed the flames. They attempt to press down on it a little, just in case there's not enough of a seal against the floor, as their gaze snaps back to Kaoru and Tatsuko.

"Is either of you hurt?"
