As you all walk through the now opened entrance door… you find yourselves in the dark room you’d seen through the thin window before, only now it’s monochrome interior is covered in red. A sickening smell strikes you before you even get a chance to focus on the fact that there’s bodies in the room with you. A light haired man you don’t know, a familiar woman with dark hair, a blood soaked crib. Your vision swims, not able to focus on any one part of the scene for long, before you hear-
You hear prayer. A low muttered voice, saying the lord’s prayer as you turn to see the Preacher kneeling upon the ground, the shotgun beside him. Try as you might, you can’t seem to move from your spot as he seems to notice your presence, at first not turning towards you.
“…This family has been nothing but sin upon the earth. Has your mother no shame…? And that child…”
There is sorrow, and fatigue, and vitriol in his voice, all at once- Before the preacher picks up the shotgun, and turns, leveling it towards you now. In your swimming vision, it feels like he’s staring daggers and pointing it directly at each of you, not just one of your group in particular. And you feel distinctly like you’re about to die.
“Tell me right now. Tell my why I shouldn’t end this family line in its entirety.”
You can cry, you can scream, you can plead. But you only get one thing you can do.
