The preacher stands tall as he glances up to give you a once over now that you’ve spoken to him, and somehow gives the feeling of towering over you even despite him being slightly shorter than Kaoru. A leader: Imposing, infallible, untouchable.

“Ah, there you are. Was father really not formal enough for you? I was just in the middle of selecting which reading to be the focal point of this Sunday. I trust that you’ve already done your own readings for your bible study later today far in advance already, as you should. Though, I suppose I should ask if you’ve finished the homework your mother gave you for tonight as well? Good, good…”
He hadn’t actually waited for you to respond, perhaps simply assuming you had done as he’d asked already.

“Well, given you still have some time before you need to be off, perhaps you can assist with some basic maintenance around here. I had intended to ask you to clean the window, but…”
The Preacher glances to the window of the room, now fully coated in grime… and then back to you with a sharp smile. A smile that could almost be called proud, were it not so subtly smug as well as he reaches out to pat your head. But you instinctively know what that means: You’ve done well in his eyes.

“It seems you’ve already done it before I had the chance to ask. Wonderfully done, we don’t need any distractions during services. As I expected of you, of course. Your mother must be doing something right in your home education, former teacher that she is. Though, personally, I’m sure my own teachings have had a far greater impact on guiding you down the right path. You’ll make a fine preacher one day too, I’m sure.”
You… had managed to do something correct, it seems. Why do you suddenly feel a momentary sense of uneasy relief?

“Regardless- If you wish to speak for a time instead, we have at least a moment. Otherwise, feel free to get along to your studies.”
