Well, Vincent supposes he should have expected Robert getting defensive about it, given how he was acting earlier. He gives a nod towards Kaoru backing him up though about it just being what they already saw. This wasn’t just him making this up indeed, and it certainly wasn’t something the wardens hadn’t already seen either.
…Vincent stares for a moment as Robert reveals that he’d had that amount of time to prep everything beforehand, though. What he said probably still held true, about it being a panicked and paranoid mental state, but… that sure was a lot more time than he’d had to make multiple decisions leading to the death he’d caused indeed. Coming from his own perspective, thinking about everything he’d done and tried to do… it’s hard for him not to imagine it as something more selfish (or at least self protective) instead of something actually protecting someone else. Wasn’t it his own secret he was keeping, doing this, after all…?
Vincent doesn’t say any of that, of course. Both because he knows it could put negative ideas in the warden’s heads, and because he still knows what else he still has to share and how that might shift things.

“Kaoru’s right; I’m not making anything up, just telling you what we just saw. The… the projection worked like we got little memories from other people’s perspectives based on items I’m guessing you did see at some point or another, and the picture only became clear by the end when we could put it all together. …That’s what I mean when I say… I think what we saw was true, but that you didn’t realize it, and the projection just laid it out in a way where we actually could. Or… if you did realize any of it after the fact, I guess you’d have been in denial about it, going by your reaction now. Because I really don’t think you’d be saying you didn’t have a choice and treating the person you did actually kill like a bastard if you realized, Robert.”
Or so he’d certainly hope, anyways. Vincent takes a moment to breath, gathering himself before he knows he’ll need to continue and strip away that last layer of shadow blocking Robert from seeing the situation as it actually was.

“…You never actually talked with the person who called you to see what they wanted, or what information they had. They never directly threatened you, but you took it as a threat. And it was definately… a terrifyingly vague call to receive out of the blue, I can’t deny that having heard it. But they weren’t actually a blackmailer, or anyone looking to sue, Robert. The person you killed was a woman named Daisy Jones, and she was the former maid who poisoned your father, as the lone employee booked by your mother that long weekend, and paided a large sum after before she fled the country. So she was calling you… wanting to meet with you to tell you that truth, of what she’d done, not about your own actions. …I don’t know how accurate to her final wishes this projection was, but… she told us… that she felt guilty for making you think you were a murderer all this time, because she had overseen what you’d done and knew you thought you’d been the one to end him. She never intended to use that against you.”
In a way, Robert was right that the caller had actually had information about what he’d done to his father. And yet, the truth was much, much more tragic than that.

“I’m… sorry to have you find out this way, but I still do think it’s important you know, Robert. Because if you’d known… if you’d known any of that ahead of time, I don’t think you’d have done what you did. And now, too, you need to know if you’re really gonna keep trying to justify your actions knowing everything, to claim you were just doing what you had to just in case it really was a threat, or if you’re gonna admit to making a grave mistake. …I still hope things work our for you and your family regardless, despite everything. But I don’t think keeping on denying it all’s gonna help you either way.”
Vincent can’t imagine Robert will take this well right now, regardless of how he reacts. He just… really, really hopes it somehow all works out eventually.
