Andrew puts the pamphlet back in its place. Marriage favoritism was never pretty, but how was Sylas involved?

Since the two women already had the alter and decorations covered, he goes to inspect the bell tower. Pointedly not directly under it, should the bell inside fall.

The spiralling stairs of the belltower take you past the organ and up into the rafters of the church itself. The architecture is truly beautiful, but- that’s not what you’re concerned about right now, is it? Didn’t think so. The belltower culminates in a small room that holds the [titular bell].

Nobuko Yoshida

Nobuko glances at the handcrafted wooden chess pieces. Fascinating. She looked them over, deciding that it was best if she left the physical labor to the expert.

"Shiori, the chess pieces if you would."

Shiori nods, ever the obedient follower, and heads over to the elaborate wooden carvings, inspecting the chess pieces closely and trying to see if they can be moved.

A cursory examination of the chess pieces reveals that all of them have been placed on small “X”s on the floor.

They're all quite light and you can move them around, but you do feel compelled to return them to their original position.

Further from that, it would appear that there are three “X”s on the floor that don’t have corresponding pieces to match; two directly in front of the altar and one behind it.

Wait! We’re missing the BRIDE, the GROOM, and the PRIEST to marry them!

For some reason Andrew can't place, seeing Nobuko order Shiori to do such a simple task made him really uncomfortable for a moment. He shakes off the feeling and persists up the stairs, coming to a stop in front of the bell to examine it.

The bell itself is shaped strangely. It’s more cylindrical than anything, and it glows from within. But stranger than that is the fact that it keeps ringing even with the wooden [PRIEST] (well, a BISHOP) tangled in its ropes. You can extract the PRIEST safely. And you probably should!

It seems like there are some missing pieces that need to be recovered. Well, that wouldn't do at all, a set should be complete, no? With the main area fully searched, and Mr. Edgeworth working on the bell, Nobuko moves to the church doors, looking to see what lies beyond the bounds of this area.

The church doors have been thrown open, sunlight and wind filtering through the open threshold. Cracking them open further allows you to head into the garden at the front of the church. There’s a driveway, some rows of roses, and a small gazebo. Everything else is covered by a strangely dense fog that blocks your way forward. Oddly enough, the fog doesn’t rise all the way into the sky. You can see… something moving in the distance. Maybe you can get a better look from the [gazebo]?

As she looks over the chess pieces, Shiori notes the X's on the floor with a tilt of her head. Looks like they're missing some of the pieces that they need. After placing every piece she moved back into place, Shiori returns to her sister's side, hands clasped behind her back as she follows her to the doors. Seeing the gazebo in the distance, she turns to her sister, looking between her, the altar, and the gazebo.

"We may find some of the missing chess pieces over there. I believe retrieving them and putting them in their correct spots is what we're meant to be doing here."

He narrows his eyes at the trapped piece, tracing the outline of ropes around it to see the best way to free it. The simplest way is typically the best; Andrew pulls the bishop directly towards him, using his other hand to pull the adjacent rope away.

The bell is tolling in a very specific rhythm. Six tolls, a long pause, and then three tolls. Six, pause, three. Six, pause, three. Six, pause, three. It’s within one of these pauses that you can reach out and safely grab the PRIEST. However, extracting it doesn’t stop the tolling.

"Yes, I was thinking similarly. Let's be about it then."

Nobuko moves to the gazebo, fully expecting Shiori to be following along behind.

As you step into the gazebo, you nearly trip over something in the corner. It’s the GROOM! Or, at least, the carved wooden KING piece that represents the [GROOM]. Even though it has no discernable face, you get the impression it’s looking at something in the [sky].

Shiori Yoshida

That she does! The follower is indeed following.

Oh hey, look at that, her assumption was right! She squints at the newly discovered chess piece, following its wooden gaze up towards the sky. What exactly is it looking at?

…Hm. A round icon is making a repeated motion in the air from far away. It’s hard to describe, but it’s almost as if the sky itself has turned into a phone screen. Most of it is plain blue, but a circular icon with a car on it keeps making the trip from Point A in the top left of the sky (or what you can see of it from the gazebo) to Point B in the bottom right. Point A has a little house icon, and Point B… is glitched out. You have no idea where that car is meant to go.

Six…three…six…three. That was going to keep replaying in his head over and over, huh? He carries the piece down the spiraling stairs, wondering that maybe he should've swapped places with Nobuko and Shiori, as going up and down all those steps quickly winds him.

He briefly notes them investigating through the open doors, after catching his breath, and decides to place the bishop on the X where it's supposed to go. Sylas was unlikely to know enough about chess for the placement to actually matter, but Andrew felt compelled to still do so.

Shiori hums under her breath at the odd sight in the sky. Well, that certainly broke the immersion of the projection feeling real. It was oddly comforting in a way, to be reminded that this was all just a simulation. At least that was one thing Shiori could say she knew for sure about the whole MILGRAM situation.

She glances back through the open door, spotting Andrew putting the bishop piece back amongst its peers. So with the priest and the groom secured, that just leaves the bride. Shiori leans closer to Nobuko to let her know the news. "We just have one piece left to find. Mr. Edgeworth found the other one." In the meantime, she moves over to the groom piece and prepares to move it.

The groom piece is mostly nondescript, save for a little SG carved on its base.
